A colony of curious Meerkats is everyone’s favorite as are the Oriental Small-Clawed Otters. The statue-like American Alligators make you wonder if they are actually alive!

Birds

With over 150 species of birds, we have everything from the smallest Wrens to the largest Ostrich. Our birds include a vast variety of parrots, cockatoos, birds of prey, land birds such as the Emu, Cassowary, and others.

As well as birds in aviaries we have many free-flying species. See the beautiful peacocks roaming the park and the spectacular colors of the Rainbow Lorikeets when they come in to feed.

Our lake areas display a large range of waterbirds including many wild birds that come in to feed. Walk-in aviaries allow you to view our beautiful birds from the inside of their displays.

Outdoor enclosures display many native reptiles such as Lace Monitors, Water, and Bearded Dragons, Blue-tongue Lizards, Sleepy Lizards, and Turtles.

Our new reptile house has some intriguing displays housing both exotic and native reptiles including Common Green Iguanas, Gila Monsters and snakes such as Boa Constrictors, Corn Snakes, Carpet Snakes, and Children’s Python. You will also find fish, frogs and small marsupials. These displays will keep you looking for more!.

Activities Include

1. Koala Holding

Have a cuddly encounter with one of our beautiful koalas!
An experience you don’t want to miss! Our park is one of the few places in South Australia where you can actually hold a koala. Our cuddly koalas come out for holding every day at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm whilst visitors are present. *subject to conditions

At these times you can hold or pat our koalas, take your own photographs or just learn about these fascinating animals from our friendly keepers! There is no extra charge for this service.
Koala Holding Conditions:

It is at the keeper’s discretion to determine the suitability of someone to hold a koala and a minimum height of 130cm is required.
When the forecasted Adelaide temperature is 34 degrees and above, we only hold one session at 11.30 am.

2. Unleashed

On the last Sunday of each month between 12.30 pm – 3.00 pm a group of keepers bring out a variety of animals, birds, and reptiles.

This gives our visitors a chance to see some of our friendly residents up close and personal! Feel a snake or lizard, see the dingoes being walked, touch a bird and let the kids cuddle a guinea pig or rabbit! *subject to conditions

PLEASE NOTE – If the last Sunday of the month falls on a weekend with a public holiday Monday, Unleashed sessions will be held on Monday.

Unleashed Conditions:

Fauna used will vary depending on availability and conditions on the day.
Unleashed sessions will not be held when the forecasted Adelaide temperature is below 15 degrees or 34 degrees and above.

3. Reptile Presentation

Saturday and Sunday at 11 am!

On the weekend our keepers present a variety of reptiles at a hands-on presentation. Learn some interesting facts and get up close with some fascinating creatures! *subject to conditions

You will come face to face with a Boa Constrictor or Carpet Python, young Fresh Water Crocodiles or American Alligators, Mertens Water Monitor, Fijian Crested Iguanas, and our Aldabra Tortoises.
